Bulgaria's climate is temperate, with cold, damp winters and hot, dry summers. There's snow on the mountains to welcome the skiers in winter, and spring days between April and June welcome visitors with mild, agreeable weather. Average daily temperatures at the beach resorts rise to around 29 degrees C in August, whilst in the mountains they can fall to around -5 degrees C in January.
